Welcome to Sunnyslope Stable |
 We are a horse boarding and horse training barn located in the community of Damascus, southeast of Portland, Oregon. We specialize in Western Pleasure but welcome all riding disciplines to the barn. It is our pleasure to breed, train, show, and sell APHA/AQHA show prospects, as well as the occasional good all-around horse. When we bought Sunnyslope (Farm), it was an old Thoroughbred racing farm. We immediately fell in love with its character, wonderful views, the 10 acres of property, and its convenient proximity to the City of Portland. We renovated the lovely two-story Victorian farmhouse, horse barn, bunkhouse, paddock stalls, round-pen, and outdoor riding arena. We built a barn of premium stalls with 180 foot runs and private tack lockers, the 80 x 120 indoor riding arena and viewing areas, and this year added a wing to the indoor arena--our show barn with gorgeous training stalls and wash/grooming areas. Lots of activities, great atmosphere, and additions/renovations complete!! We pride ourselves in a clean, work/play place and enjoy the quiet setting amid farmland, country homes, and views of the hills.
In
2006 & 2007 we updated foaling areas, new
fencing, security entrance, coded gate, graveled trailer and car
parking, new footing in the arenas and round pen as well as extensive
landscaping.
In 2008 & 2009 we enlarged the outdoor arena, redid footing, built
viewing room, more painting and spiffing, new enlarged tack room and
rebuilt private tack rooms for premium stalls, new automated valve
system for sprinklers in the arena, new pipe corrals/runs on part of the
property, redone bunkhouse.
In 2010: On the docket...all new pasture fencing, manure station, viewing room decor, and furniture in the bunkhouse! At The Barn... Only Good Times
